Cariitti Solutions in Kotoisa S8E8 – Harmonious Sauna and Atmospheric Lighting

In the eighth episode of the eighth season of Kotoisa, interior designer Seija Strand and the Finnralia team worked their magic in Marianne and Gero’s home. The sauna and bathroom spaces were relocated and given a new luxurious look. The renewed spaces were complemented by Cariitti’s TAIVE sauna and lighting solutions in both the sauna and bathroom areas.

The sauna featured in the episode radiates a fresh and natural atmosphere, built around the Birch tone of the TAIVE sauna collection. The light, soft shade brings a sense of calm and Scandinavian clarity to the space, making it one of the most popular finishes in the collection.

The TAIVE collection is designed for a complete sauna interior, where benches, panels, accessories, and even dressing room furniture form a unified and harmonious whole. In the Kotoisa project, the same Birch tone has been continued into the bathroom ceiling paneling, gently connecting the spaces and creating a seamless, flowing atmosphere from one room to another.

The sauna’s look is completed with a door handle from the collection’s accessory range, adding a subtle yet carefully considered finishing detail.

The straight bench solution chosen for this space fits perfectly: it is clean, timeless, and particularly well suited for small to medium-sized saunas, where openness and a calm visual rhythm are desired.

Sauna stove: Tulikivi

In this episode’s setting, the atmosphere is built on subtle light – both the sauna and the bathroom feature indirect lighting that enhances the calm and modern character of the spaces.

In the sauna, the eye is drawn to the Aspectu combination meter, which merges a decorative element with practicality: it displays temperature and humidity, and also includes an electronic hourglass.

Soft, glowing indirect light has been installed under the benches, in the backrests, and along the ceiling edges using Sauna Ultra Ambient White LED strips. The solution is designed for demanding conditions and withstands extreme temperature variations from −40 to +125 °C, ensuring long-lasting and reliable performance in sauna environments.

The overall look is completed by heater fibre lighting, which brings life to the sauna stones and highlights the steam rising into the air when water is thrown on the stones – a small but striking detail in the sauna’s atmosphere.

In the bathroom, the same calm rhythm of light continues. Indirect lighting is integrated along the ceiling edge in connection with the shower wall and in the shower recess using the Huuhto Easy LED profile, creating a unified and softly illuminated space.
